Picture this: Victorian England on a cold, damp night. The kind of dampness you feel deeeeep inside your every bone. The smoke, thick in the air as you hurry down deserted streets, desperate to make it home surrounds you. You walk into a small alleyway. A cavern of tall, ramshackle buildings. Fog dampens the sounds of hooves on the cobblestones in the distance. But near you, every sound is heightened as it echoes within the miasma.  A rat scurries. A raindrop falls to wooden steps. You mark the sound of stifled sobs. To your right, a window, painted with the frost of night. Behind it, a woman in black widow’s weeds stares blankly, a single tear streaming down her porcelain cheek. Lost in the misery of her memories.

That’s this glass. Except add a lil drag queen in there cuz it’s suuuuuuuper sparkley!!! Love. It.

• All Van Gogh glass is delicate (but worth it cuz it’s freakin’ beautiful). See the tips below for working with it!
• Van Gogh is hand painted with automotive paint. Each piece will be unique.
• You may see info online that says it’s totally opaque, but it’s not. You can see some light through it.
• Sheets measure approximately as 12×12 (as with all sheet glass, slight variations in size will occur)
• Not fusible
• NOTE: As with all stained glass sheets, wisps, swirls, levels of iridizing, & colors will vary from piece to piece. It’s part of what makes our beloved art so unique! Appearance of colors may vary from one computer/mobile screen to another.

Quick Tips for working with Van Gogh Glass: The backing is similar to mirror glass in that it’s delicate. Use blue painter’s tape on the back when cutting & grinding to help protect it. You can use mirror sealant as well. Cut on the unpainted side. Be sure to grind either with the unpainted side down or use a Nick’s Grinder’s Mate to keep it off of your grinder surface. Use a FINE GRIT grinder bit & no hulking out on it. Gennnnnnntle pressure. The paint will get a lil chippy on the edges regardless, but if you keep the pressure light, you’ll be able to cover the chippy with foil. Polish & Wax gently.

Remember: Glass is sharp. Please keep all of your digits. Be careful and consider wearing cut resistant gloves when handling any stained glass sheets.
